The Duty Cycle function reduces energy consumption by periodically turning equipment off for brief time periods during occupied hours. The actual amount of off-time for each load is recalculated prior to every off-cycle to reflect operator-requested changes and fluctuations in the process being controlled. Therefore Duty Cycle has the ability to quickly respond to changing conditions as dictated by the operator or as automatically detected by the program.

To prevent acute fluctuation in overall demand from occurring as the result of its control actions, Duty Cycle uses a sophisticated scheduling algorithm. This is particularly important when Duty Cycle is operating in conjunction with the Power Demand Limiting program.
